Paralympic torch relay details announced

The honour of lighting the beacons on Scafell Pike, Ben Nevis, Slieve Donard and Snowdon will be given to the groups of disabled and able-bodied Scouts on Aug 22.

The flames next destination will be London, Edinburgh, Stormont and Cardiff between Aug 24 and 27 before being united on Aug 28 at Stoke Mandeville Hospital in Buckinghamshire, the starting point of the torch relay to the Olympic Stadium.

During the opening ceremony for the Paralympics, it will going to be arrive in the Olympic Stadium on Aug 29.

"Today we invite people to show their support for the Paralympic Torch Relay, whether it's taking lanterns along to a Flame Festival or Celebration, supporting a Torchbearer or getting together to line the route of the 24-hour relay and help us lead the way to the Paralympic Games."
